Today we live in a multimedia world that succeeds in distancing us from reality as the images and situations it portrays are considered a hyperreality. Fortunately natural settings can enhance both physical and mental health. For example, nature provides silence which can do wonders for aiding sleep disorders or calming stressed nerves. Natural settings offer stimuli that, research suggests, are restorative to attention capacities.

So while you may think it's just a simple ride out in the woods on a beautiful sunny January day, you're actually doing something positive for your mental health and, combined with the physical aspect of horse riding,  you're doing something for your overall physical well-being.
