Hotsprings and Spas

One of my favourite activities during the cooler months is to visit the hotsprings. It's a great way to relax, enjoying the sensation of the warm waters embracing you completely while the air above is cool and fresh. Spending time at the hotsprings is a truly Italian past time, recalling Etruscan and Roman activities as they discussed daily events while passing from one bath to the next. These days the hotsprings host a series of services such as massages, mud treatments, restaurants and hotel accomodations. Here are two hotsprings within 45 minutes of

Calidario Terme Etrusche / Etruscan Hotsprings

Calidario, located in Venturina in Tuscany, is a small lake fed by a hotspring with a temperature of 36 degrees. Take advantage of the health benefits stimulated by a swim through the water and the steam or follow the example of the Etruscans in the Thermarium passing from one pool to the next and enjoy the harmony and peace of your suroundings.
